It does not have to be some fleshed out romantic developement I like action but it would be nice if the main Character gets his girl at the end of the series.

The book effectively has two endings — the end of Offred's story and the ending that comes right after (the "true" finish of the book).

Offred's story, and her perspective, ends a. When it comes down to it, there just aren't a lot of great works of literature that end happily. Sure, some works, like the Brothers Karamazov, end on a hopeful note, but in terms of your standard everybody-gets-married, all-the-problems-are-solved kinda ending, they're few and far between.

LitCharts assigns a color and icon to each theme in Happy Endings, which you can use to track the themes throughout the work.

Howards End is a novel by E. Forster, first published inabout social conventions, codes of conduct and relationships in turn-of-the-century England. Howards End is considered by many to be Forster's masterpiece.

The book was conceived in June and worked on throughout the following year; it was completed in July Inthe Modern Library ranked Howards Cited by: 1. Usually this means I prefer happy endings because that means the author has seen fit to not end the story before all the story's problems have been solved or at least addressed.

I can swallow a downer ending if it doesn't seem like the characters (or author) just gave up. Like a great dinner party or once-in-a-lifetime vacation, all good things must come to an end.

Hopefully, a really excellent, memorable ending. This is also true of that book you’re writing. You have a fantastic first chapter, a perfectly paced middle, and now it’s time to wrap up your story with an unforgettable : Writer's Relief.

Bertold Brecht and Kurt Weill's Happy End is part of their s German ouevre.
